FAQs
What makes your experiences different from a standard tasting?
Most tastings move quickly through a list of bottles and tell you what you should be tasting. Mine don't. The focus is on what your senses are actually telling you - not a set of prescribed notes you're expected to find. I have synaesthesia, which means taste and smell trigger colour and vivid scenes for me. That's given me a pretty different perspective on how people experience spirits, and it shapes everything about how I design and run sessions.
Do I need any experience with spirits to take part?
Not at all. The sessions are designed to work for complete beginners and seasoned enthusiasts at the same time - because when you take away the pressure to find the "right" answer, everyone discovers something new regardless of where they're starting from.
How many people can participate?
It depends on the format. Private group tastings work best with between two and twelve people. Corporate events can be scaled up depending on your objectives and space. If you're not sure what works for your group, just ask and we'll figure it out together.
What spirits do you work with?
Whisky is where my roots are, but sessions can be built around gin, rum, bourbon, Japanese whisky, or a mix depending on what works for your group. If you have something specific in mind, I'm open to it.
Where do sessions take place?
I'm based in Speyside and work with venues across Moray, the Highlands, and throughout Scotland. For corporate clients and private groups, I can come to your space - whether that's a venue you've already chosen or somewhere you need help finding. I also work with venue partners throughout the region if you're looking for recommendations. For the right project I'll travel further afield, including internationally.
How do I book an experience?
Get in touch with a bit of detail about what you're planning - group size, rough date, what you're hoping people get out of it. I'll come back to you within 48 hours and we'll take it from there.
